Clodiagh Rangers 4 - Rearcross U-10's 3

A wet and blustery Drombane was the venue for this U-10 non-competetive league game with both teams turning in fine displays of attacking football despite the inclement weather conditions. The opening exchanges were evenly contested with Brian Nolan coming to the rescue for Rearcross with a goal line clearance to keep the Clodagh side at bay. Rearcross went ahead on nine minutes when Stephen Rochford prodded home from in front of goals. Patrick Dawson made it two nil to Rearcross in the fifteen minute mark. Clodiagh Rangers net minder Mikey Griffin denied Patrick Dawson a minute later with a fine save. The home side pulled a goal back early in second half when Tom Purcell's corner kick went all the way to the net. Michael McLoughlin then levelled for the Drombane side, Padraig Ryan edged Clodiagh Rangers ahead with an effort from distance midway through the half. Padraig Ryan then bagged a second to make it 4-2 to the home side. Rearcross rallied for the remainder of the game and brought it back to the minimum five minutes from time with a well struck goal. Rearcross piled on the pressure in the remaining minutes and had claims for a penalty waved on in the dying seconds of the game.
