Rearcross U-10's were on their travels to the Silvermines for this league encounter last Saturday and shared the spoils on a three all score line. Rearcross made a blistering start and hit the front inside the opening minute when Stephen Rochford rifled to the net. It was two nil to Reacross a minute later when Stephen Rochford was again on target with another fine finish. Rearcross continued to dominate and were denied a third when Cathal Kennedy's effort thumped off the cross bar. Silvermines started to gain a foothold after this with Conor McKelvey and Michael Corcoran particurarily impressive in the middle of the field with Billy John Caplis and Andy Kinnane working hard to quell the danger while Cillian Kennedy came to the rescue for Rearcross after saving from a long range effort.The home side pulled a goal back midway through the second half when Conor McKelvey finished to the net with a good effort. Rearcross made a strong finish to the half and took a 3-1 lead to the break when the move of the game saw Paul Nolan release Patrick Dawson down the right flank who in turn squared to Cathal Kennedy who knocked to the net from close range. Silvermines applied most of the pressure in the second half and Rearcross were forced to defend in numbers with Colm Lenihan and Danny Poyzer to the fore while Eoin Sheldon covered a lot of ground in midfield. Silvermines brought it back to the minimum six minutes from time when Michael Corcorcan blasted to the corner of the net. Rearcross were limited to half chances at this stage as the home side continued to press, Cillian Kennedy produced a fine one handed save from a shot outside the box two minutes later. Sean Malone then followed up to cut out the danger after tracking back to put in a crucial tackle when a goal looked certain.Silvermines grabbed a late equalizer with seconds remaining when Conor McKelvey broke through the centre to drive to the net to cap off a very entertaining encounter.
