Killavilla 'B' 4 - Rearcross U-16's 2
Rearcross U-14's travelled to Roscrea for this league tie played in wet and windy conditions last Saturday morning and were defeated on a 4-2 scoreline. Rearcross began the game on the back foot and were rescued by a great save from Jim Caplis in the 4th minute. Rearcross found themselves one down in the 12th minute when Killavilla scored after a goalmouth scramble. Killavilla scored their second five minutes later after another goalmouth scramble. James Gough was unlucky not to score in the 27th minute when a fine run from midfield produced a well struck effort. Killavilla added a third three minutes later after poor defending. Rearcross began the second half brightly and were unlucky to go four nil behind when an attempted cross ended up in the back of the net early in the half. Paul Hogan pulled a goal back for Rearcross when he pushed forward out of defence to score a well executed goal on 50 minutes. Michael O' Gorman added a second for Rearcross eight minutes later after a good move involving James Gough. Rearcross applied all the pressure for the remainder of the game and were unlucky not to further add to the scoreline. Rearcross had fine performances from Danny O' Brien, Paul Hogan and Tom Hickey.
