Rearcross U-16's entertained Shannon Rangers in a league encounter played in Rearcross last Saturday and were convincing winners on a 4-1 score line, Rearcross started the stronger side and were one nil up through Sean Sheehy with a well taken goal after twenty minutes. The visitors were back on level terms ten minutes later when Alan Byrnes scored a well worked goal. Sean Sheehy restored the lead for Rearcross in the 35th minute when he hit the target for the second time. Rearcross dominated the second half and were 3-1 up in the 64th when Eamon Devitt was well positioned to finish from close range. John Berkery wrapped up the points for Rearcross when he jumped highest to head to the roof of the net from a corner kick in the 74th minute.
