Arra Rovers 2 - Rearcross U-12's 2
Rearcross U-12's shared the spoils with Arra Rovers on a two
all scoreline in a league game played in Portroe last Saturday. Arra Rovers
made a bright start to the game with Jim Caplis having to come to the rescue
with two successive saves in the opening ten minutes. Rearcross took the lead
in the 12th minute with a fine finish from Cormac Nolan, Arra Rovers equalised
five minutes later after slack marking by the visitors. Rearcross were denied
the lead for the second time midway through the half when Jame Gough's free
kick was just over the crossbar. Rearcross went 2-1 ahead when James Gough
scored with a well struck shot from outside the box five minutes before half
time. Arra Rovers were back on level terms on the stroke of half time after
poor defending gifted the homeside with the equaliser. Rearcross dominated
the second half but were unable to score the goal their efforts deserved with
Michael O'Gorman, James Gough, Cormac Nolan and Raymond Williams all coming
close. Rearcross were well served by Damien Nolan and Wayne McMahon whose
dogged defending in the second half helped to keep the Arra attack at bay.
