Pallas United clinch their first Ann Kennedy Tournament title in emphatic fashion

This year's Ann Kennedy Tournament Final was contested by Pallas Utd and Lisnagry FC. Pallas Utd were a last-minute entry in place of Donohill & District FC meaning that whatever the outcome the Ann Kennedy Memorial Trophy would be going to a new home this year. Pallas Utd started bright and were 1-0 up after 5 minutes of play. An outside the box effort from Vinny Ryan made its way into the bottom corner of the Lisnagry net. Vinny Ryan nearly doubled his tally minutes later when an effort from the half way line arrowed narrowly over the bar. Vinny Ryan did get a second with a well taken header. David Ryan scored Pallas Utd’s third after cutting in from a wide position leaving the scoreline 3-0 at half time. Lisnagry had one or two half chances but Vinny Ryan and David Ryan added one more each to put the scoreline at 5-0. Jamie Collins scored for Lisnagry with 10 minutes left on the clock. The scoring had not stopped there as Zach Murphy drove home a breaking ball outside the box to leave the scoreline at 6-1 to Pallas Utd. A special word of thanks goes to the Grounds Group who have put a great deal of time and effort into getting the playing surface to the immaculate condition it is in.

There was half time entertainment during the Final as Rearcross FC made a presentation to Ann Kennedy to acknowledge all the sponsorship and support shown by Kennedys Bar and Shop down through the years. Kennedys Bar and Shop always backed Rearcross FC in terms of Finance and Friendship for as long as most can remember. Rearcross FC would wish Ann Kennedy all the best in her retirement.
The newly installed Voluntary Contribution Box was also unveiled last night. This idea was brought to the Rearcross FC Committee by Rody Kennedy (RIP) and it seemed fitting that one is now erected in his honour at the entrance to the Rearcross FC Grounds.
