Fantastic display by Rearcross U-13 Girls

Rearcross U-13 Girls got their season off to a flying start with a 4-3 home win in Rearcross last Tuesday night. A young Rearcross team started well but fell behind after a well taken goal by Pippa King of Cloughjordan. Rearcross began to put pressure on the visitors and were rewarded with an equaliser from Kate Kennedy in the 18th minute. Rearcross doubled their advantage before the break with Zofia Kwiecinska powerfully breaking through from midfield and leaving the score 2-1 to Rearcross at the break.
After the break the older and stronger Cloughjordan team scored two quick goals from Pippa King and the third from Ellie Last to leave Cloughjordan 3-2 up. Despite fielding a very young team, Rearcross overcame the setback with the powerful Kate Kennedy scoring a quick-fire brace to leave Rearcross 4-3 up and Kate Kennedy with a hat trick of goals. In what was a thoroughly enjoyable game to watch Rearcross ended up the victors with a 4-3 scoreline. A fantastic team display by the girls in Green.
