Share of spoils for Rearcross U-16 Boys

Rearcross U16 Boy’s welcomed Moneygall to Rearcross last Friday evening and shared the spoils on a one all scoreline. Moneygall had an early effort on goal with a Mark Coonan header and then Mark Coonan had another effort on goal which was smartly saved by Darragh Reynolds. Rearcross came in to game as the half wore on and Paddy Ryan was unlucky not to get on the score sheet when his effort was brilliantly saved by Moneygall custodian Liam Flynn. The visiting keeper was called into action again after diverting Jack Nolan’s free kick around his post. It was end to end as Darragh Reynolds made a fantastic save to deny Kayden Amodeo. The home side were luckless not to edge ahead when a move that saw Oisin Reynolds play in Paddy Ryan whose pass found Jack Nolan, but the effort was half saved by the Moneygall keeper and Conor Nolan was unlucky not to get enough on the rebound.
Rearcross netminder Darragh Reynolds was called into action early in the 2nd half after saving a Mikolaj Turek effort on goal. The Rea boys took the lead when an Oisin Reynolds kick out was helped on by Paddy Ryan to Jack Nolan who raced clear to score. Moneygall’s response was swift when Kayden Amodeo scored from outside the box to leave it all square. Rearcross upped the ante with two efforts on the Moneygall goals, the first from Colm Hickey with a long-range effort and then a Colm O'Meara header with both efforts just wide of the target. Moneygall kept battling also as Kayden Amodeo saw his shot hit the post and go wide. Rearcross had the upper hand for the remainder of the second half and Jack Nolan was unlucky with a trio of efforts that weren’t far away. It finished stalemate on the evening.
