Away win for Rearcross U-16's in Roscrea

Rearcross U-16’s travelled to Villa Park in Roscrea for this league tie against Killavilla Utd, but the visiting side proved too strong for their opponents on this occasion. Liam Brett opened the scoring in the first minute with a strike from the right wing and then Conor Carr struck from outside the box in the 5th minute to make it 2-0. Rea kept the pressure on as Ronan Hammersley saw his effort cleared off the line. Eoghan O'Donnell in the Killavilla goals then denied Sam Hackett before Jack Nolan got in on the action with a powerful shot to make it 3 nil. Sam Hackett scored next to make it 4-0. Paddy Ryan had to be alert when making a comfortable save from a Luke Marks free kick. Rearcross remained on the front foot as Sam Hackett doubled his tally after the Killavilla keeper pushed an Oisín Reynolds strike on to his path. Conor Carr netted his second of the outing to extend the Rea lead after being put through by Colm Hickey. It was the turn of Jack Nolan to bag his second of the evening after being released by Liam Brett. The strike of the tie came when Colm Hickey hit the target in the 27th minute with a superb finish. Liam Brett increased the Rearcross tally after being set up by Colm Hickey. Jack Nolan completed his hat-trick in the 45th minute with a well struck shot and then Oisín Reynolds got on the scoresheet with a smart finish, complemented by a Conor Carr assist. Seanie Quinlan completed the scoring after converting from inside the box. This was a one-sided affair on the evening and Rearcross have been on the receiving end of these kind of score lines from time to time over the years, but full credit to Killavilla Utd for fielding a second team at this age group and increasing participation as result which is a key objective.
