Rearcross U-14 Girls recover 3-1 deficit to earn share of spoils

Rearcross U-14 Girls were away to Ardcroney last Saturday in what was a game of two halves as Rearcross battled back to earn a deserved draw after a slow start. The first half proved challenging, with the team struggling to get up to speed early on. Despite this, Zofia found the net to keep things within reach. However, the opposition capitalised on the slow start. One of their goals came from a penalty awarded for a handball in our own penalty area. At the break Rearcross trailed 3-1.
The second half told a completely different story. With renewed energy and determination, the team came out fighting and took control of the game. Zofia struck again to reduce the deficit, giving the side real momentum. Defensively, the turnaround was just as impressive. After conceding three in the first half, the team tightened up significantly and kept the opposition scoreless after the break. The equaliser came in dramatic fashion with five minutes to go. From a free kick near the halfway line, Zofia delivered the ball forward, Lauren reacted first to volley it up into the air, and Kate got a decisive touch-guiding it into the back of the net to level the game.
