Winning start for Rearcross U-15's in Ballinree

Rearcross U-15's were away to Ballymackey for their first game of the season last Saturday and came away with a 5 goals to 3 victory. First half saw Rearcross start the brightest and 2 strikes on goal from Jonathan Dawson and Jack Nolan inside the first 5 mins, had the Rea boys on the front foot. A Sam Hackett strike from outside the box just went over the crossbar in the 10min. Rearcross took the lead in the 12min when a Jonathan Dawson corner kick created havoc in the Ballymackey box and it was Liam Brett who reacted quickest with a smart finish to the back of the Ballymackey net. Ballymackey did strike back shortly after when a superbly struck free kick from Derek Hickey (6) made it 1 all. Rearcross took the lead again when a Jack Nolan free kick was too much for the Ballymackey keeper to hold and a on rushing Conor Nolan made no mistake to leave it 2-1 to the Rea boys at half time.
The second half saw an improved Rearcross outfit take to the field. A quick start by the Rea boys saw Sam Hackett get on the score sheet to make it 3-1.  Rearcross defence of Seanie Quinlan, Paraic Carr, Oisin Reynolds and man of the match Liam Ryan dominated every encounter against their opposition. Oisin Reynolds made it 4-1 to the Rea boys with his free kick when flying to the back of the net from outside the box. 5 mins later a superb Jack Nolan free kick gave the boys a 4 goal cushion and made the score 5 - 1. Ballymackey scored 2 consolation goals late on through Derek Hickey and Aaron Kilgallon but the victory was never in doubt.
