Brave showing from a depleted Rearcross 'B' in Borrisokane

Rearcross 'B' travelled to Borrisokane in this Second Division fixture.  Rearcross again tight on numbers with a lot of players absent.  However, those that were there gave it their all but unfortunately it wasn't enough.  Borrisokane got the earlier chances, hitting the crossbar earlier on and coming close with a one on one with the Rearcross keeper only to put it wide. Rearcross did get chances with Paul Carey hitting 2 long range efforts while the home keeper was out of position only for his effort going narrowly wide. The second half got off to a perfect start for Borrisokane when they took the lead after 5 minutes with a well taken goal. The second came 10 minutes later when a long range free somehow managed to find its way directly to the Rearcross goal. This was followed by a  third some 7 minute later. Rearcross did pull one back after a superb effort by Mikey O'Connell forced the keeper to make a good save resulting in a Rearcross corner.  From this Cathal Kennedy took it quickly to Thomas Kennedy who swung it a perfect cross for Willie Horrigan to finish to the net. Rearcross piled on a bit of pressure after this with the Kelly brothers, James Rochford and Eoin Sheldon all pressing hard for the second. With five minutes remaining Borrisokane got their fourth from the penalty spot. Again, another brave effort from the Rearcross team but very disappointing with the low numbers turning up for games.

Rearcross 'B':  Brian Hammersley, Colm Kennedy, Anthony Ryan, James Rochford, Thomas Kennedy, William Horrigan, Liam Kelly, Eoin Sheldon, Oisin Kelly, Paul Carey, Mikey O'Connell
