Rearcross 'A' succumb to defeat in Templemore

Rearcross FC travelled to table toppers BT Harps in their first game after a long hiatus. Rearcross FC succumbed to a 2-0 defeat after having conceded a soft goal 15 minutes into the tie. BT Harps scored their second goal on the stroke of full time when the Rea men had piled forward and left the rearguard light of bodies in search of an equaliser. Played in blustery conditions the Rea boys will feel somewhat disappointed with the outcome. Rearcross dealt with the onslaught of the BT Harps pacey forwards and kept them at bay for most of the game. Chances were hard to come by throughout the game for both teams. Rearcross held the ball well for long spells but could not break down the BT Harps physically strong back line. Best chance of the day fell to James Deegan in the last five minutes of the game. James darted through on goal and as he was steadying himself to slot home a wicked bobble meant the effort arrowed high and wide. Paul Nolan was the best on the day for Rearcross FC followed closely by his brother Brian Nolan. Cathal Kennedy made two good saves in the Rearcross Net when called upon. Next up for Rearcross FC A is a home fixture under lights next Friday Night against Ballymackey.
