Maximum points for Rearcross U-14's in Cloughjordan

Rearcross U-14’s travelled to Cloughjordan for their last league match of the season. Jack Nolan nearly had the visitors 1 up when his free kick was just over the bar in the 5th minute and then Jack Nolan had another strike at goal soon after which was well saved by the Cloughjordan keeper. Rearcross made the breakthrough on 12 minutes when a Jack Nolan free kick was half saved by the Cloughjordan keeper only for Conor Nolan to make sure to finish it to the net. Debate will be had in the Nolan household if the ball was already over the line or not before Conor added to it!!!. Another Jack Nolan free kick in the 20th minute produced a fine save from the home keeper. Conor Carr also saw is effort saved by the Cloughjordan keeper in the 30th minute to leave it 1 nil to the visitors at half time.
Rearcross came out in the second half with all guns blazing and were 2-0 up thanks to a Jonathan Dawson goal. Brilliant football saw Jack Nolan released on the right wing and his cross was met beautifully by Jonathan Dawson to give the keeper no chance. A Jonathan Dawson pass set up a Conor Nolan effort in the 50th minute but it was just wide. Conor Carr saw a strike from outside the box just go wide of the post on the 58th minute mark. Jack Nolan who was giving the Cloughjordan defence a horrid time, saw a strike from distance saved by the keeper. Another Jack Nolan free kick hit the crossbar and wide in the 62nd minute before Conor Nolan scored on 65 minutes to make it 3-0 to the Rea boys after cutting in from the right before chipping the on-rushing Cloughjordan keeper and into the net. Cloughjordan did score themselves when a corner wasn't dealt with properly by the Rearcross defence and was dispatched to the back of the net. Cloughjordan were then awarded a penalty in the last minute of play, but Darragh Reynolds who had very little to do all through the match kept it out with a fine save. Rearcross U-14 players were given their Mid-West Oil sponsored gear bags after the match. Thanks again to Niall and Emma.
