Away defeat for Rearcross Youths in Roscrea

Rearcross Youths trekked to Roscrea for this league fixture with an understrength side and fell to a three-nil defeat to Killavilla United. Rearcross defended stoutly during the opening exchanges with the woodwork coming to the rescue from a Miko Pasalic effort and then Brian Hammersley in the Rearcross goals made a brilliant save to keep the hosts at bay. Rearcross were denied when Aaron Quinlan played Jack Brett through, however Killavilla keeper Sam Dooley advanced to clear the danger. Killavilla hit the front on 34 minutes when Miko Pasalic burst through and finished to the bottom right corner. The Roscrea outfit enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the second half and came close again when a Miko Pasalic shot came off the crossbar. Brian Hammersley was to the fore for Rea with some fine goalkeeping. Killavilla made it 2-0 in the 59th minute when Sam Dooley split the Rearcross defence as Milo Pasalic squared to Leigh Loughnane who tapped home from close range. Credit to a Rearcross side that never gave up and pushed for a goal with twelve minutes remaining, but were caught on a counter attack after Milo Pasalic netted his second of the outing to leave Killavilla with maximum points on this occasion.
