Rearcross U-13 Boys secure maximum points away to Knigh United

Rearcross U-13 Boys were on their travels to Knigh United last Saturday and made the trip worthwhile with a 6-3 result to claim maximum points. Rearcross turned in a five-star performance in the opening half and were five goals to the good at the half time whistle. Rea hit the front when a Jonathon Dawson delivery found Jack Hickey in space who made no mistake with a fine finish. Cathal Hickey not to be outdone by his elder sibling got on the scoresheet for the second match in succession when a move started in the middle of the field involving Patrick Carr released Cathal Hickey down the left wing before finishing with aplomb to the back of the net. It was three nil midways through the half when Jonathon Dawson was on the mark following a Ciaran McLoughlin assist. Jonathon Dawson was on the mark again after coming out the better in a one-on-one situation with his marker before netting a smashing individual effort. It was five nil to the visiting side when Michéal Collins set up Conor Nolan who rifled between the posts. Conor Nolan was in action again early in the 2nd half with a well taken goal after good play by Patrick Carr. Knigh United didn’t give up and were denied by Andrew Hanley who made a great penalty save. Rearcross emptied the bench as Knigh United tacked on 3 late goals to leave a final score-line of 6-3 in favour of the Martin O’Toole Electrical sponsored side.
