Away defeat in Moneygall for depleted Rearcross 'A'

A resplendent Moneygall FC Grounds was the venue for the last away game of the season as Rearcross ‘A’ had to field an understrength side before the hosts prevailed on a 5-1 scoreline. All Rearcross players turned in a battling performance despite the odds after Moneygall raced in to a 3-nil lead inside the opening 20 minutes with goals from Sean Moroney, Niall Maher and Jack O’Brien. It was 4 nil in the 28th minute when Jack O’Brien added his second of the day. T Sheehy made it five nil thanks to a C Fleming assist. Rearcross didn’t give up though and bagged an equalizer when Gavin Denihan scored a superb goal after getting on the end of a Cathal Kennedy kick-out. That was as good as it got for Rea on this outing, but Paul Carey came close to netting the goal of the game with a spectacular effort. Well done again to all players for the effort and commitment on the day.
