Stoppage time equaliser earns away point for Rearcross 'B'

Rearcross were the visitors to Moneygall on Friday night. It was Moneygall who were quickest out of the blocks and the home side were causing the Rea defense big problems with their direct style of play. Rea were in and out of the game with no continuity in their play. Moneygall hit the front on the quarter hour mark when a free kick saw Willie Mackey clear the ball off the line, it seemed that Rea had cleared their lines only for the ball to be recycled, where Anthony Devereux was on the edge of the box to fire a great strike into the net. Moneygall had several chances to extend their lead but could not find a way past Brian Hammersley in the Rea goal. Rea made a switch in personnel and it seemed to work with Mikey Feehan going close just before halftime.
Rea started the 2nd half the better and Mikey Feehan went close again. Oisin Kelly was put in one on one next put the keeper pulled a great save. The move of the game saw Paul Ryan collected the ball on the right wing and he played the ball into Rob Harrington whose clever step over saw the ball fall to Kieran Devitt who returned the ball to Rob Harrington who had continued his run but as he was about to pull the trigger the full back nipped in to turn the ball around for a corner. Rea continued to keep the pressure on without any reward and it looked as if Moneygall were going to hold on for the win. Deep into stoppage time a long freekick in from Willie Mackey found Darragh Carr in the box and he was upended for a penalty. Up stepped Mikey Feehan who made no mistake which was the last kick of the game.
