Premier Division Shield
Rearcross progress to semi-final stages by odd goal in five
Rearcross FC opened their season with a win, but had to work for their reward. Rearcross went one nil behind after a searching free kick was keep in play on the end line and forced into the back of the Rearcross net. Following a deserved water break Rearcross gathered themselves and returned the favour when Stephen Rochford lurked at the back post and turned the ball home. Rearcross FC took the lead when Robert Harrington got on the end of a whipped delivery from James Deegan to score for Rearcross FC. Rearcross made it 3-1 when James Deegan finished to the far corner of the net. An excellent finish by anyone's standard. Borrisokane threw everything at Rearcross FC in the second half and claimed one goal back in the early stages of the second half. Rearcross FC stood firm for the rest of the game and in truth could have converted a handful more chances. Borrisokane to their credit did have Rearcross FC under pressure but interceptions from Paul Nolan and Eamonn Wade in the final few moments proved vital. Further fixtures to be made known when available.
