Rearcross progress to Tournament semi-finals

Rearcross kicked off their new season with a visit of Donohill FC for the quarter final of the Ann Kennedy Tournament which takes place each Summer. A new look youthful side took to the field for Rearcross with two new debutants in Jake Slattery and Kayden Amodeo making their debut. It was a fairly tight first half with Rearcross shading it in terms of possession but unable to find the breakthrough but playing some nice football. Rearcross upped the ante in the 2nd half and were 1 0 up inside 5 minutes when James Deegan beat the offside trap and coolly finished. It was 2 0 shortly after when Stephen Rochford unleashed an unstoppable strike from 30 yards which cannoned in off the crossbar. Rearcross rang the changes in the second half and made it 3 0 with 5 minutes to go. Some lovely footwork from Kayden Amadeo in the opposing box saw him evade 3 challenges before rifling a left footed shot to the roof of the net. 3 0 is how it finished and Rearcross can be happy with their performance. Best on the night were debutants Jake Slattery and Kayden Amodeo along with Conor Nolan and Stephen Rochford who worked tirelessly in midfield. Up next is Pallasgreen in the semi final next Tuesday evening.
