Rearcross 'A' bow out of Ricky Fogarty Premier Division Cup

Rearcross FC welcomed Sallypark FC to Rea last Saturday Night in the quarter final of the Premier Division Cup. In an exciting Cup tie affair, Sallypark came out on top on a 2-0 scoreline. Rearcross were made work for space in front of goal from start to finish. Sallypark were awarded a penalty which they failed to convert. Sallypark broke the deadlock when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box. A low cross evaded the Rearcross FC rearguard and snuck into the net. Rearcross FC attempted to convert at the other end with Stephen Rochford having a left footed effort veer inches wide of the upright. James Deegan had an effort tipped onto the crossbar by the Sallypark goalkeeper. Greg Kennedy had put the ball into the back of the Sallypark net from a James Deegan corner but play was brought back and Sallypark were awarded a free kick. Sallypark were dangerous on the counter attack and had one effort trickle off the post following a long-range effort. Sean Ryan converted late in the tie following another long ball out from defence saw the Sallypark forward slot home from the edge of the box to leave the score at 2-0.
