Rearcross ‘B’ recover 2 goal deficit against Cloughjordan

Rearcross ‘B’ hosted Cloughjordan ‘B’ in what was both teams’ opening league fixture. The home side started slow with Cloughjordan having numerous efforts within the first few minutes of the game. Clough were eventually rewarded on the half hour mark when Kevin Quinlan got on the end of an Alex wade cross to finish from close range. Cloughjordan then extended their advantage right before half time when Kevin Kennedy managed to curve a brilliant free kick around the Rearcross wall and into the back of the net.
Rea came out a different team in the second half and took control of the game straight away. Eoghan Kavanagh pulled one back for the hosts in the 52nd minute courtesy of an Oisin Kelly assist. Conor Nolan followed suit soon after to equalise for Rea. Rearcross dominated from here on in but struggled to find the net once more. Cathal Kennedy back pedalled to make a great save in the dying minutes to make sure that the points were shared. It finished 2-2 in what really was a game of two halves. Big well done to Oisín Reynolds who came on in the second half to make his junior debut for the club.
