League aspirants Shinrone hold the aces over Rearcross ‘B’ 

Rearcross ‘B’ hosted Shinrone in this rescheduled league fixture under lights in Rearcross. Both sides started brightly Shinrone shooting wide from a free kick and Mark Hogan for Rearcross shooting over the crossbar. Shinrone scored first when good advantage played by the referee resulted in Simon Hayes shot finding the net. They doubled their lead shortly after that when a long throw bounced awkwardly and Dan Bevans glancing header found the net. Mark Hogan started an attack for the home side in his own half finding Eoin Sheldon who in turn tried to set up Cillian Kennedy only for the Shinrone keeper to come off his line to smother the attack. Brian Hammersley made a good save at his near post to prevent a third goal but Dan Bevans for Shinrone making it three nil just before half time. Rearcross started the second half putting Shinrone under pressure with Cillian Kennedy's shot going across the goal and wide. Shinrone's first attempt in the second half resulted in a corner from which they made it four nil. Rearcross now pressing forward did get one back from a Mark Hogan free. However, it was Shinrone who finished the stronger with David Murphy and Riann McLoughlin adding two more goals for the visitors, the final result being a loss of six to one for the home side. A poor day out for the Rearcross boys who will now focus on next week's fixture and hopefully get back to winning ways.
