Rearcross Women make their debut in Winter League 

The women of Rearcross FC got their chance to display their skills this Sunday when Rearcross FC Women's team participated in a 5 a-side Blitz Tournament held by Newport AFC. A great day was had by all with Rearcross FC going up against teams from Newport and Birdhill. Debutants galore for the Rearcross contingent with most playing their first ever game. A fun and friendly atmosphere meant the Rea ladies could settle into proceedings and by the end of the day were starting to get to grips with the tempo of things. Rearcross FC's lone goal of the day came from the boot of Maggie Lane after a good clearance the ball dropped to Sarah Kennedy who slipped the ball to Maggie Lane who made no mistake and slotted the ball home.

The Rearcross FC panel consisted of Sarah Kennedy, Eve Wade, Susan Hartnett, Denise Kennedy, Clodagh Sheldon, Noreen Devitt, Mary Guidera, Maggie Lane and Shelia O'Dwyer. All of whom got plenty of minutes under their belts and played their part on the day. Following their maiden voyage into the footballing world the Rearcross FC Women look forward to the next Blitz Tournament due in a few weeks time.
