Goals galore for Rearcross Ladies in Templemore

Rearcross FC Ladies had a very enjoyable day out in Templemore last Sunday afternoon when they took on BT Harps, Holycross and Moneygall in a Blitz Tournament. The Tournament, hosted by BT Harps, went off without fault and each player wearing the Green of Rearcross got plenty of minutes on the field. Rearcross managed to convert 8 times over the course of the day. The ever-improving group were competitive throughout and did Rearcross proud.
Mary Guidera bagged two goals in the first fixture to kick start the scoring for RFC, while also grabbing a third goal later on in the day. Sarah Kennedy converted in the second game after a goalmouth scramble saw her poke the ball home. Denise Kennedy converted twice one of which she slotted home after arriving at the back post following a Rearcross corner. Maria Nolan and Clodagh Sheldon also got on the scoresheet for Rea bringing the total of goals scored on the day to 8. Noreen Devitt put in a player of the day performance in the Rearcross FC net, clearing her lines and making vital saves to come to Rearcross FCs rescue.
Credit to BT Harps for hosting the Blitz in Michael Fennell Park, it was a highly entertaining blitz with some real talent on show. Rearcross FC Ladies now look forward to the next set of fixtures which will be held in the new year. Thanks to all the supporters who braved the chilly weather to cheer on the girls.
