Spirited display from Rearcross U-12 Girls against Borrisokane

Rearcross FC Girls U12's hosted Borrisokane girls in Rearcross on Friday night last (September 23rd) under lights, score was 3 nil to Borrisokane with the visiting side 2 nil up at half time. Score line isn't a true reflection of how the game went, it was evenly balanced throughout, with Borrisokane getting 2 goals just before half time. Rearcross had efforts from Abbie Carroll and Zara Maher which the Borrisokane keeper saved. Rearcross forced a few corners in first half and were very unlucky not to score. Lauren Hartnett played really well at left full as did Chloe Quinlan on the right full back side, both girls passing the ball accurately out from the back. Orla Carr at centre back was dominant throughout. Our midfield of Aoibheann Devitt, Abbie Carroll and Kate Kennedy got on plenty of ball and competed valiantly throughout. Saoirse Guidera and Zara Maher were a handful up front for the Borrisokane rear-guard. In the second half Rearcross introduced Anna Kennedy, Ruth Johnstone, Lauren Ryan and Maria Carr, all girls played really well. Kate Kennedy went into goals to allow Zofia to play out the field, both girls played excellently. Rearcross  conceded 1 goal in second half and should probably have got a couple themselves with numerous attacks and forced saves from Borrisokane keeper. Well done to Borrisokane on a good sporting game, our girls are improving and learning with every game and are very competitive, keep it going ladies.
