Rearcross U-14's have too much firepower for understrength Cloughjordan

Rearcross U-14's played host to Cloughjordan on Friday night in this floodlit league encounter and ran out comfortable winners. Rea were four goals to the good at the halftime whistle, thanks to a Jack Nolan hat-trick in the main. The first came on 4 mins with a solo effort and then a powerful shot from outside the box on 16 minutes doubled the tally. The woodwork denied Jack Nolan on the 20 minute mark, before Oisín Reynolds stretched it to three nil in the 25th minute with a well taken strike from outside the box after latching on to a corner kick. Jack Nolan capped off his hat-trick on the stroke of half time with a deft strike from inside the box.
Rearcross were on the front foot again in the second half as Jack Nolan netted again from a free kick seconds after the restart. Ciaran Cavanan got in on the action on 43 minutes after driving to the back of the net from a corner kick. The woodwork denied Jack Nolan again in the 45th minute but the Rearcross lead was extended minutes later when the ball finished in the net following a defection. To their credit, Cloughjordan kept plugging and grabbed a consolation goal with a finish from close range. Jack Nolan wrapped up the points late on with a converted penalty to bring his tally to five on the evening.
