Maximum points for Rearcross U-15 Boys

Rearcross U-15’s welcomed BT Harps B to Rearcross last Friday evening for their first home match of the season. Rearcross started the quickest with Jack Nolan sending an effort over the bar. In the 8th minute a Jack Nolan free kick from the edge of the box just went wide. Jonathan Dawson opened the scoring for Rearcross in the 14th minute when a brilliant Paraic Carr tackle sent the ball skywards towards the Rearcross front men, Jack Nolan jumped the highest to flick the ball on to Jonathan Dawson who placed the ball past the advancing BT keeper. Rea kept the pressure on as Jonathan Dawson saw a free kick saved by the BT Harps keeper on the 20-minute mark and then James Costello had a long-range effort fly over the cross bar. Jack Nolan got on the score sheet in the 21st minute with a smart finish after a goal kick was intercepted by Jonathan Dawson to set up the Rearcross marksman. It was 3 nil to Rea when James Costello sent a clever ball over the top of the BT Harps defence to Jack Nolan who sent the ball to the back of the net. BT Harps can thank their keeper Dylan Ryan for making a string of brilliant saves late in the first half to keep the score at 3 nil at half time.
BT Harps changed their keeper at half time and Joseph Johnston didn't look out of place when he saved smartly from Jonathan Dawson twice and then followed up a with a leg save from Jack Nolan. Jonathan Dawson made it 4 nil with a superb solo effort gliding past 3 BT Harps defenders before dispatching to the back of the net. BT Harps had a purple patch after this and were rewarded when Domliolk Boroch scored BT Harps only goal of the game on 40 minutes. A brilliant full-stretch save by Rearcross custodian Darragh Reynolds kept the visitors tally to the minimum. Jonathan Dawson had another effort saved by the BT Harps netminder late on before Rearcross wrapped it up at 5-1 when Liam Ryan scored a well-deserved goal in the dying minutes.
