Maximum points for Rearcross U-15 Boys

Rearcross U-15 Boys welcomed Nenagh AFC ‘B’ to Rearcross on Saturday for this league encounter and emerged with a comprehensive win on the day. The home side took the lead from the first attack when Jonathan Dawson scored from the edge of the box. The final scoreline wasn’t a fair reflection on an Nenagh AFC outfit that was unlucky not to equalize when Baker Alhlail’s effort flew inches over the crossbar. Rearcross were awarded a penalty seconds later which wasn’t converted on this occasion. Justin Griffin in the Nenagh goals couldn’t be faulted on the day and saved well from a Conor Nolan strike. It was 2-0 to Rea when Jonathan Dawson’s menacing corner kick was headed home by Stephen Ryan. Rearcross pressed again from the tip off as Conor Nolan opened his account to make it three nil after being put through by Jonathan Dawson. The Brickfields side kept battling and Jack Hickey who had a mighty game made a telling tackle on Patryk Pluta to avert the danger. The Rea boys took a 4-0 lead to the break after Jonathan Dawson cut in from the left before drilling powerfully to the corner of the net.
Rearcross set out their stall early in the second half when Liam O’Dwyer’s well-timed tackle set Jonathan Dawson away on the left who linked up with Ciaran McLoughlin whose effort was just wide of the mark. Rearcross keeper Darragh Reynolds was called in to action minutes later with a save to deny Don Joby. Rearcross were dictating affairs at this stage as Jonathan Dawson’s shot hit the crossbar, but then Darragh Reynolds had to save on the line to thwart Nenagh’s Ben Ryan. The hosts made it 5-0 after Conor Nolan did well to dispossess, before racing through on goal to net his second of the outing. Full credit to a Nenagh side that didn’t throw in the towel as Brajan Hepner pulled one back with a great strike from the edge of the Rearcross penalty area. Jonathan Dawson sealed his hat-trick after collecting the ball on the left before ghosting past two defenders and lifting the ball over an advancing Justin Griffin in the Nenagh goal. Nenagh kept plugging as Daniel White’s effort was well saved by Darragh Reynolds who set up Conor Nolan to cap off his hat-trick. It was a case of the best till last when Jack Hickey completed the scoring for Rearcross with a long-range effort that was floated perfectly to the back of the net to give Rea maximum points on the day.
