Rearcross U-9’s impress in Killaloe in NTSFL Blitz

Rearcross U-9’s were on their travels to Killaloe last Saturday to participate in a Blitz involving Lough Derg and Nenagh Celtic. The first encounter was against the host Club Lough Derg with all 11 players getting game time. Charlie Ryan in goals made some great saves before Fionn Guidera took over the goalkeeping duties and also turned in a fine performance. Michael Johnson and Ellie O’Gorman turned in solid defensive displays. The midfield trio of Robber Maher, Ava Kwiecinska and Eve Richardson were dominant to hold off a strong Lough Derg side. Cian Lenihan and Oliver Hartnett combined well up front with fine efforts from outside the box. Ethan O’Gorman and Freddie Hartnett were also very much to the fore in this game.
Our 2^nd match against Nenagh Celtic was played at a fast pace with Ethan O’Gorman scoring a great goal a few minutes in with an assist from Cian Lenihan. All players played their hearts out on the day with some fine passing movements in both games. Very well done to all 11 players who all got good playing time and all really enjoyed their afternoon at the Lough Derg venue.
