Strong showing from Rearcross U-12 Girls to earn a share of the spoils

Rearcross played Nenagh Celtic girls at home under lights in Rearcross on Friday night last in an evenly contested game that finished on a nil all scoreline. Rearcross had the lion’s share of possession and chances, with Zofia Wieciensika , Aoibheann Devitt and Lauren Hartnett dominant at the back in the first half. Our midfield of Maria Carr, Shauna Carr and Kate Kennedy battled gamely and drove forward to support Orlaigh Carr and Zara Maher at every opportunity. Abbie Carroll in goals found a Rearcross shirt time and again with her accurate kick outs. Rearcross continued to use our full panel by switching girls on and off all through the game, Ruth Johnson, Saoirse Guidera, Anna Kennedy and Chloe Quinlan all making big contributions throughout the course of the game. In the second half Rearcross created several chances with Aoibheann Devitt hitting the post and crossbar on a couple of occasions, Kate Kennedy and Abbie Carroll also had chances. Saoirse Guidera in goals delivered accurate kick outs to find her teammates in green out the field, Lauren Ryan and Zofia Wieciensika played the ball out from the back, setting up various attacks. A good display by the girls who were unlucky not to take all three points, well done to Nenagh Celtic on a well contested game.
