End of season win for Rearcross Youths

Rearcross Youths completed their league campaign in comprehensive fashion against an understrength Ballymackey FC side in Rearcross last Saturday afternoon. It didn’t start out that way as it was the visitors who hit the front when Christopher Diasonama netted for the visitors with just three minutes gone. Rearcross took over after this and a Patrick Ryan hat-trick within a fifteen-minute spell more or less finished this tie as a contest. The first goal came in the 5th minute with a well taken goal and then Dylan Hyde set up the next hit as Patrick Ryan finished with aplomb. The quickfire hat-trick was rounded off in the 20th minute when Liam Brett found Patrick Ryan on the edge of the box who sent a low drive to the back of the net. The Rea boys kept the pressure on as Jack Nolan’s strike fell to Dylan Hyde who had read to perfection, before belting a low effort from close range to make it 4-1. Cathal Ryan linked up with Jack Nolan who got his name on the scoresheet with a clinical strike after breaking on the right flank. Jonathan Dawson completed the routed for Rearcross with a corner kick delivery that finished in the net to bring the curtain down on a very worthwhile campaign. Well done to Patrick Ryan, Cathal Ryan and Colm O’Meara who were selected on the NT&DL Youths team of the Week.
