Rearcross Youths lose by odd goal in three

Rearcross Youths played host to Holycross FC in this floodlit league fixture played at Rearcross FC Grounds last Friday evening. Both sets of defences dominated throughout with scoring chances at a premium. The visitors hit the front on 14 minutes, when TJ Ryan took full advantage to get behind the Rea defence before sliding the ball home from close range. Sean Butler doubled the Holycross tally on 23 minutes with a well taken goal. Rearcross shut up shop after this and brought it back to the minimum on 53 minutes after Patrick Ryan curled a superb effort to the net following a Michéal Collins assist. Rea tried hard for the equalizer but were unable to find a way through on this occasion.
Well done to James Costello and Jack Nolan who were named on the NT&DL Youths team of the week.
