Maximum points for Rearcross ‘B’ on one nil scoreline

Rearcross welcomed Sallypark on Thursday night in the rearranged fixture. It was the home side that were doing all the early running with Rob Harrington coming close on a few separate occasions only for some last ditch defending to deny the opener. The front duo of Darragh Carr and Mikey Feehan were a constant thorn in the away side and it was Darragh who nearly opened the scoring on the half hour mark when his goalbound effort which had beaten the keeper was turned past the post by the Sallypark defender. Nil all at the break despite the home sides better share of possession and chances.
Sallypark rang the changes at halftime with a wealth of experience coming off the bench. The pace of the game seemed to quicken up and it was Sallypark who seemed the most likely to take the lead only for some good defending from Rea kept the scoreline at nil all. A well worked move from Rea saw them take the lead midway through the 2nd half, Oisin Kelly picked up the ball on the right wing and drove towards the box his cross between the keeper and defense found Darragh Carr at the back post who had a simple tap in. Rea thought they doubled their lead with 10 minutes left when Rob Harrington saw the ball break to him in the box and he finished to the corner of the net but he was adjudged to be offside. The last chance of the night fell to Sallypark when a mix up in the Rea defense saw the ball fall to Jack Hogan who pulled the trigger 1st time only for Paul Carey to come out of nowhere to get a block in. 1 nil it finished to the home side.
