Trek to Offaly ends in defeat for Rearcross 'B'

Rearcross were on their travels for their 2nd last league game of the season as they were the visitors to Shinrone. It was the away side that started the better and were moving the ball well through the lines creating a few early half chances. The best falling to Paddy Ryan when a through ball from Rob Harrington found him in the box only for the keeper to pull off a good save. It was same 2 that combined to put Rea one nil up on the 20th minute, Paddy Ryan played a quick one two with Rob Harrington on the edge of the area before he unleashed a a half volley which flew into the corner of the net, a superb strike. Rea nearly went 2 nil up when the ball broke to Paul Carey in the box and his volley crashed off the crossbar. Despite their spell of dominance, it was Shinrone who would level the game up on the 35th minute. A mix up between the Rea keeper and the defender saw the ball fall to Daniel Doughan who had a simple tap in. Rea had the last chance of the half when Paddy Ryan found himself one on one with the keeper only for the keeper to pull off another good save. 1 all at halftime.
It was Shinrone who had the better of exchanges in the 2nd half and the away side found it difficult to get a foothold in the game. Despite Shinrone dominating possession they didn't take the lead until the 82nd minute when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area which Darragh Cleary finished to the corner of the net. Rea huffed and puffed to force an equalizer but couldn't manage to get one and Shinrone put the game to bed in injury time when a corner from the left was headed into the net by Peter Cleary.
