Rearcross 'B' lose in Shinrone

Rearcross B travelled to Shinrone for this league fixture on Sunday morning. Rearcross were doing all the pressing in the first 20 minutes with Cillian Kennedy & Donny O'Brien having a few efforts on goal but failing to find the net. It was Shinrone who scored first with a well taken goal catching Rearcross on a counter attack. The home side added to their lead with a good strike from outside the box leaving the Rearcross keeper with no chance to save. Rearcross started the second half like the first pressing hard to reduce the score line and were successful when good play from Donny O'Brien and Aidan Bryan found Cillian Kennedy who finished superbly to the net to make it 2-1. Brian Hammersley was called into action for Rearcross to make a good save on 2 occasions but it was Shinrone who finished strongly adding 3 more goals with the final result being 5-1. It was a good effort from Rearcross who fought it out to the end despite being down in squad numbers on the day. The team will now prepare for Clodagh Rangers away next week.
