Rearcross 'B' luckless to lose out by the odd goal in five

Rearcross B were on the road again this weekend, this time to Templetuohy. Both teams started brightly creating chances with Rearcross keeper Paul Carey pulling off a few fine saves and Oisin Kelly forcing a good save from the Templetuohy net minder. Willie Horrigan showed good composure on the wing to round the defender and find Aiden Bryan who fired over. It was Templetuohy who scored first on 25 mins from a counter attack with a good finish to the Rearcross net. They found the net again 7 mins later this time from inside the box after a deflected clearance fell to the Templetuohy striker who finished side footed to make it 2 nil to the home side. Rearcross weren't giving up and after good work from Aiden Bryan from Gavin Denihan in the box who finished coolly to the bottom corner to make it 2-1 at half time.
Rearcross back four were called into action early in the first half but defended well to avert the danger. Good work from the Rearcross midfield resulted in Aiden Bryan getting a good effort in only to be denied by the keeper.15min in Thomas Kennedy found Gavin Denihan who unleashed a powerful shot to the roof of the net from over 25 yards to make it 2 all. However it was Templetuohy who got the third to win the game.  The Templetuohy striker managed to just nick the ball from the oncoming Rearcross Keeper and finish to the net. The home side could have made it 4 but Paul Carey in goal did enough to put off the striker who put it wide. Rearcross unlucky not to come away with something but again another improved and solid performance all round.
