Kathleen Kennedy McLister RIP

The Club was greatly saddened by the untimely passing of Kathleen Kennedy McLister on 25th May 2023, so soon after the loss of her brother Rody. Kathleen played with Rearcross in the early years of the Club’s existence and was part of a Ladies team that won back-to-back Tipperary Community Games titles in 1978 & 1979 which was a huge achievement and brought great honour to Rea well before the men’s team started to gain a foothold in the NT&DL. Kathleen was a loyal supporter of Rearcross FC over many years travelling to games to support her brothers initially and then her nephews and ironically travelled to Cork early last year for our Munster Junior Cup game against Carrigaline United where Rody and Kathleen were both on the side lines shouting for Rea. Kathleen was also an annual attendee at the Ann Kennedy Tournament dedicated to the memory of her late sister Ann. Most of all Kathleen was a wonderfully kind, generous and vivacious person and always had a friendly smile for the young & old around Rea and will be sadly missed by all, may she rest in peace. We extend our deepest sympathies to Kathleen’s husband Michael, brothers Denis & Thomas, sisters Bridget & Mary, brothers in law John & Jimmy, sisters in law Nell, Ann & Noreen, nephews Damien, Simon, Greg, Tommy, Darragh and Cathal, nieces Aine & Ellie and all extended family members on your sad loss. The flags at Rearcross FC Grounds flew at half-mast as a mark of respect to Kathleen.
