Luke Carroll
Rearcross Youths Team Player of the Year 2023/2024

Congratulations to Luke Carroll on winning the Youths Team Player of the Year for the 2023/2024 season. Luke turned in a number of outstanding performances during the campaign which was highlighted with a superb goal in the home league game to Ballymackey FC with a long-range effort from inside his own half. Luke plays a commanding role from his centre half position and is a great reader of the game and also dominates aerial possession. Luke is a very disciplined player with a great attitude and lets his style of football speak his actions. It is truly a fine achievement to be awarded the Player of the Year at the age of 15 with still two seasons to play at Youths level. Well done and continued success to Luke.

Paul Nolan
Rearcross ‘A’ Team Player of the Year  2022/2023 & 2023/2024

Paul Nolan becomes the first player in over some 30 seasons to win Rearcross ‘A’ back-to-back Player of the Year awards and is a fully deserving recipient for the 2022/2023 & 2023/2024 campaigns. Paul turned in superb performances on a consistent basis and is the kind of player that every manager wants in their team. He has a never give up attitude and demands high standards not only from himself but from those on the pitch around him. His tough tackling, no nonsense style of play has been evident since he was a boy playing underage with Rea and it’s great to see him developing into the player he is today. Looking forward to seeing Paul in the green and white of Rearcross FC for many years to come. Paul also supports off-field activities for the Club and is an all-rounder in that regard. Many congratulations to Paul on winning the coveted Liam Sheehy Player of the Year accolade and continued success in to the future.

Robert Harrington
Rearcross ‘B’ Team Player of the Year  2023/2024

Robert Harrington becomes the first player in the Club to be awarded four Player of the Year Awards after being crowned Rearcross ‘B’ Player of the Year for the 2023/2024 season. Robert’s first accolade came for the B team almost 20 years ago during the 2006/2007 season, before picking up two ‘A’ team awards in the intervening years. Robert played in a central midfield role last season and was a pivotal figure for Rea throughout the campaign. Robert is an end-to-end player with strong defensive qualities and also netted 4 goals, which was complemented with multiple assists for the season in review. A standout game for Robert was a 6-1 home defeat over Ballymackey where Robert had a hand in all 6 goals. He is also a great contributor in terms of wider Club activities proactively assisting with fundraising activities and Grounds maintenance works. Many congratulations to Robert on a wonderful achievement in the Rea colours and continued success to the Toor man.

Brian Hammersley
Rearcross Youths Team Player of the Year 2022/2023

Many congratulations to Brian Hammersley, a worthy and deserving recipient of the Rearcross ‘B’ team Player of the Year accolade for the 2022/2023 season. Brian has played most of his career from a young age as a goalkeeper with Rearcross FC and was also part of the NTSFL development squad, which participated in the 2018 & 2019 Galway Cup, so Brian has gained plenty of experience between the posts at this early stage of his playing career. Brian has a great attitude from start to finish and also helps out with grounds maintenance activities when needed. Brian turned in a fine campaign for the season in review, featuring in 24 games for the club, including 3 appearances for Rearcross ‘A’. He is a great reader of the game and produced some outstanding displays of goalkeeping during the season with brilliant reflex saves. It is a great achievement for Brian to be awarded ‘B’ Team Player of the Year at such a young age, and he surely has a great future in the Rea colours. Well done, Brian.
