Rearcross Football Club
Volunteer Induction Pack
Welcome to Rearcross Football Club. The club is going from strength to strength and with the help of all Coaches & Volunteers we would hope for future success. I hope you find this will answer any questions you may have about the club, always feel free to ask. The club was founded in 1972 by a group of young men who were based in the Rearcross
area. In 1973 the club entered the Tipperary league, playing their one and only league game of the campaign against Nenagh Town. The club entered the North Tipperary & District
League in 1983. Following moves to various playing fields, the club purchased a site in the village of Rearcross in 1997, in doing so Rearcross FC became the first club in the NT&DL
to own their pitch. This pitch is where the club currently plays its home games. At our base in Rearcross we have one floodlit grass pitch and one floodlit All Weather astro
training pitch. In addition there is a lit walking track circling the grass pitch. All Coaches have to be Garda vetted before they can coach underage teams, you will also
need to attend a Safeguarding course, and complete a first aid course. All of these are available on FAI Connect. Myles Devitt is Child Welfare officer and can be contacted at
milodev76@gmail.com.
The club has teams entered in the North Tipperary & District League, North Tipperary Schoolboys League and North Tipperary Schoolgirls League. Match times and locations are
confirmed on a Sunday night/Monday in advance of the weekend fixtures.
Paul Carey is our Head of Football. Coaches should make themselves familiar with the FAI player pathway via FAI website. In here you will find all you need to know about the
pathway as players go from U5s up to Adults as the formats are designed to be age specific. These can be seen on page 70-72 of the FAI Football Pathways plan, which can be found here. All policies and codes of conduct are available on the Club Website, given by the below links.
